IGI Book Evaluation

Thank you for the submission of your IGI book proposal. We have accepted your proposal for further consideration and are currently awaiting the submission of the full chapter for review by 31st December 2026. Upon submission of the full chapter, your paper will undergo several rounds of revisions towards desired acceptance.

NOTE: Pre-approval does not constitute formal acceptance of a chapter. Rather, it indicates that the proposal is sufficiently relevant to the scope of the volume for the authors to proceed with the submission of the full chapter for further consideration.

Notice to Authors: Relationship with ICAIH2027 International Conference

This book volume is largely, but not exclusively, associated with the ICAIH2027 International Conference, to be held at the University of Aizu, Japan, from January 25–30, 2027.

Authors submitting chapters for consideration are strongly encouraged to participate in ICAIH2027 through a special conference presentation mode. Such participation provides an important opportunity for reviewers and members of the academic community to gain an in-depth understanding of the proposed chapter, including its research objectives, methodology, findings, theoretical contribution, and practical significance.

In addition to the regular conference program, a specifically dedicated IGI Global book session will be organized for authors whose chapters are under consideration for the edited volume. This session is planned as a virtual, focused editorial-development process and will be conducted separately from the core ICAIH2027 conference presentation program. Unlike a conventional conference presentation, where the primary purpose is to disseminate research to a general academic audience, this dedicated session is designed specifically to facilitate direct scholarly interaction between chapter authors and the central reviewers/evaluators of the proposed book chapters.

Each participating author will be given a formal 20-minute presentation slot to provide a concise, structured overview of the proposed chapter. The presentation should focus on the chapter's central argument, research objectives, methodology, key findings or conceptual contribution, originality, and intended significance. This will be followed by approximately 20–25 minutes of focused interaction and discussion between the author and the designated reviewers/evaluators.

A key feature of this session is that the evaluators will have read the submitted chapter in advance and will come prepared to discuss it in detail. The discussion will therefore go beyond the type of general questions normally raised following a conference presentation. Reviewers may identify specific aspects of the chapter that they consider particularly strong, as well as areas they believe require clarification, restructuring, additional evidence, stronger theoretical grounding, methodological refinement, or a different presentation of the argument.

The purpose of this interaction is to iron out differences between what the authors intend to communicate and what the reviewers and the wider scholarly community need to see in the final chapter. Through this direct exchange, authors will have an opportunity to explain their intentions, clarify possible misunderstandings, respond to concerns, and receive specific guidance on how the chapter can be better aligned with the objectives and expectations of the edited volume.

Important Note Regarding the IGI Session and Schedule

Although the dedicated IGI session forms part of the broader ICAIH2027 program and requires registration for ICAIH2027, authors should understand that this editorial-development process is separate from and substantially more time-consuming than a regular conference presentation. The dedicated sessions are not intended to be completed within a single conventional conference session or within the core January 25–30 conference schedule.

Because each chapter requires advance reading, preparation by the designated evaluators, a formal presentation, and extended author–reviewer interaction, the IGI sessions may be distributed over an extended period, potentially across approximately one week. Furthermore, depending on the number of chapters and the availability of the central reviewers/evaluators, some of these sessions may be scheduled approximately 1–2 weeks after the conclusion of the regular ICAIH2027 International Conference.

Authors should therefore plan their participation with this extended timeframe in mind. Registration for ICAIH2027 provides access to and participation in the overall conference framework, but participation in the dedicated IGI editorial session may involve a separate scheduled virtual meeting at a later date. Authors whose chapters are selected for this process will be informed of their individual session schedule and presentation arrangements in advance.

The extended scheduling is intentional. It allows the editorial team and reviewers sufficient time to read the chapters carefully, prepare meaningful questions and observations, and engage with authors in a substantive manner rather than treating the session as a conventional conference Q&A.

The session is therefore intended to function as a structured pre-submission mentoring and editorial-development exercise, helping establish a more streamlined alignment between the author's intended contribution and the scholarly contribution expected from the final chapter. The objective is not simply to identify weaknesses, but also to recognize the elements that reviewers value and encourage authors to preserve and further develop those strengths.

During the dedicated IGI session, authors will have an opportunity to:

• Present the central ideas, arguments, methodology, and contributions of their proposed chapter in a focused 20-minute presentation;

• Respond directly to questions raised by evaluators who have already read the submitted chapter;

• Clarify methodological, theoretical, conceptual, or interpretive issues;

• Explain the rationale behind particular approaches, arguments, or findings;

• Receive specific feedback on aspects reviewers consider particularly strong;

• Understand clearly which aspects reviewers consider unclear, insufficiently developed, or in need of revision;

• Discuss possible restructuring, additions, omissions, or changes in emphasis;

• Identify differences between the author's intended message and the way the chapter is currently interpreted by reviewers; and

• Develop a clearer and more focused revision strategy for the final chapter submission.

This dedicated session should therefore not be understood as a conventional conference Q&A. It is a reviewer-led academic dialogue intended to provide authors with an opportunity to engage directly with the evaluators before the final editorial decision. The approximately 20–25 minutes of interaction are specifically intended to allow meaningful discussion rather than merely brief questions from a general audience.

Importantly, participation in this process may provide authors with a more favorable consideration during the subsequent editorial evaluation, because the interactive session allows reviewers and editors to develop a deeper understanding of the proposed work while also allowing authors to respond to concerns and incorporate expert guidance before formal acceptance decisions are made. The opportunity to address preliminary concerns, clarify questions, explain authorial intentions, receive targeted mentoring, and demonstrate a clear revision plan can therefore strengthen the overall evaluation of the chapter.

At the same time, the session is designed to promote constructive rather than purely evaluative interaction. Reviewers may openly indicate both what they liked and what they did not find sufficiently convincing in the chapter, allowing authors to understand not only the weaknesses that need correction but also the strengths that should be retained. The ultimate objective is to help each chapter reach a level of coherence, relevance, originality, and scholarly quality that serves both the author's intended contribution and the expectations of the broader international readership of the volume.

However, conference participation and participation in the dedicated IGI session do not constitute or guarantee acceptance of a chapter. All chapters will remain subject to the formal review and editorial selection procedures established for the IGI Global book publication.

Participation in ICAIH2027 is strongly encouraged but not mandatory for book submission. The volume remains open to relevant, original, and high-quality contributions from authors who are unable to attend the conference. Authors who cannot participate in person will nevertheless remain eligible for consideration under the normal editorial review process.

Authors are encouraged to view ICAIH2027, and particularly the dedicated IGI session, not simply as a venue for presenting their research but as an opportunity for interactive academic engagement, reviewer dialogue, scholarly mentoring, and pre-submission development of their chapter. The session is intended to create a constructive bridge between the author's vision for the chapter and the expectations of its evaluators, ultimately helping authors produce a more focused, coherent, and impactful final contribution to the edited volume.
